Dr. Chien has published in both scholarly journals and textbooks, and is currently working on several research projects involving foot and ankle reconstructive surgery and implant effectiveness. She has given presentations across the country on a variety of topics, and is involved in teaching medical students, orthopedic residents, and other surgeons.

September 24th, 2022: NYOSS Ankle Fracture Talk.
Summary: A comprehensive overview of the challenging aspects of ankle fracture. Ankle fractures require addressing the fracture itself, but also the ankle ligaments such as the syndesmosis and deltoid. These are important to address and fix accordingly during surgery.
October 6th, 2022: PM&R Grand Rounds.
Dr. Chien was honored to be invited to speak to the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) department, our colleagues who take care of neurological, musculoskeletal conditions nonsurgically. A great discussion was had on the details of the foot and ankle clinical exam, imaging and treatment options, whether surgical or non-surgical. Sometimes, the best treatment is non-surgical!
